The remake of FromSoftware's critically acclaimed Demon's Souls was initially revealed during Sony's special PlayStation 5 presentation back in June of this year, pleasantly surprising fans of the original title; even more so when it was revealed to be a launch title.

PlayStation 5 released in North America and other regions last week, and has finally become available everywhere else today, which also means that PlayStation 5 owners can now enjoy the all-new Demon's Souls everywhere in the world, and spend coutless hours dying in-game.

Demon's Souls for the PlayStation 5 is not actually developed by FromSoftware, but by Bluepoint — who have done a great job remaking the original game, and keeping pretty much that was present in the PlayStation 3 game, albeit with additional content that will give fans a little something extra to keep things fresh, but familiar.

One thing that was not changed at all was the difficulty, and Souls players know just how difficult these games can be. New information has revealed, however, that the developers actually considered adding an easy mode to the remake of Demon's Souls, but the idea was eventually dismissed.

In a recent interview with The Washington Post, Demon's Souls Creative Director Gavin Moore explains that at Bluepoint the idea of adding an easy mose to the game was tossed around at one point.

"This project remakes the work of another development team. While we've made some changes, our core driving mantra has always been to preserve the spirit and intent of the original creators," explained Moore. "While we considered and discussed an easy mode, we ultimately decided it wasn't our place — merely being custodians for this amazing game — to add something that would fundamentally alter its balance."

Do you beliebe that the developers at Bluepoint made the right decision? Do you disagree with them and their reasons for keeping the original level of difficulty without offering an easy mode? Sound off your opinions in the comment section down below, and let us know.

From PlayStation Studios and Bluepoint Games comes a remake of the PlayStation classic, Demon’s Souls. Those who’ve faced its trials and tribulations before, can once again challenge the darkness in stunning visual quality with incredible performance.

Demon's Souls is currently available exclusively for the PlayStation 5.
