Yoshinori Kitase, the original director of
Final Fantasy VII and producer on the
Remake knows exactly what
Final Fantasy title he'd remake next if Square Enix submitted to his own personal wishes. Speaking to Gamereactor, Kitase stated, "
Ok, so first of all, you have to promise you're not going to write an article saying Square Enix is remaking Final Fantasy something, something… It's just a purely personal opinion, just so you understand that. With that caveat in place, the first Final Fantasy that I worked on myself was Final Fantasy V, that hasn't been remade with the more realistic kind of approach yet, so I think it might be quite interesting to do a FF5 remake someday."
Even if Square agreed with Kitase, the wait for a
Final Fantasy V remake might be a long one as it's taken Square 5 years to release just the first part of the FF VII Remake after it was originally revealed at E3 2015. Then again, Tetsuya Nomura, director of the Remake and the Kingdom Hearts franchise has also previously stated that he'd like to remake FF V. Perhaps there's something secretly in development at Square? Still, Kitase (53) and Nomura (49) don't exactly have their best days ahead of them, especially if it's going to take multiple years for each installment in the FF VII Remake series to be released.
The Final Fantasy VII Remake demo was released on March 02, with the first epidoe hitting PS4 consoles worldwide on April 10.
