Launching for the PlayStation 4 and PC back in 2017 (and later coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch), Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice earned much acclaim and now a sequel is on the horizon.

Developed by Ninja Theory, the game is set in a dark fantasy world inspired by Norse mythology and Celtic culture. It's action-adventure and blends a variety of genres including hack-and-slash, puzzle solving, and psychological horror.

Annoucned during The Game Awards 2019, Senua's Saga: Hellblade II is a follow-up. The Game Awards 2021 took place last night and platformed the official gameplay reveal trailer for the sequel. The Icelandic score paired with creepier-than-ever visuals make it clear that Hellblade is back and probably better than ever.

This gameplay trailer boasts such stunningly realistic graphics that the event's livestream chat were convinced that they were watching a pre-rendered cinematic. Certainly promising visuals for the next generation. The game uses Unreal Engine 5 and is set to release exclusively on Xbox Series X/S and PC.
