Team Ico's The Last Guardian featured a tortured development cycle, faced with numerous delays many assumed the game would never see the light of day. The Last Guardian finally launched last December and now a new experience is coming to playstation VR.

Shawn Layden announced the demo at playstation experience and described it as a "gift" to playstation fans. The VR experience is completely free and is stand alone meaning that owners of PS VR will get to experience The Last Guardian without owning the original game.

There was a brief glimpse of gameplay showing the player interacting with Trico and there will also be puzzles included in the VR experience. The demo will launch on the playstation store on 12th of December and is said to be offer around 20 minutes of gameplay. The demo is also playable with a dual shock controller. The Last Guardian has been a long time coming and Sony clearly want to continue supporting the game and offering new experiences.
