Sony's Paris game Week has delivered a noteworthy game reveal of the new God of War. The prior games in the God of War series have focused soley on Kratos's one-man war on the gods. This installment switches settings from ancient Greece to a new Scandinavian environment and focuses on a fresh take on Norse Mythology. Taking place years after the events of God of War 3, this entry in the franchise finds Kratos and his young son embarking on an epic adventure and bonding along the way. The gameplay on display shows an interesting dynamic with the boy providing combat assistance as the player dispatches multiple adversaries. The Battle Axe is also a welcome addition and is a worthy replacement for the Blades of Chaos of the previous games.
