The Netflix-produced Castlevania series has been quite the hit since it was first released on the popular streaming platform. It is a show that respects the source material and it shows, especially since the animated series has been liked by long-time fans of the Castlevania series of games by Konami, as well as newcomers.
Today, Castlevania writer Warren Ellis has revealed that Netflix sent him the 28-day data on the third season of the popular animated series. As it turns out, Season 3 of Castlevania has done "shockingly well," which is actually something rather unusual for third seasons of any show in general.
According to the information Ellis was sent, Castlevania was in the Top 10 of Netflix shows; remarking that this was for all Netflix content and not categories such as animation or TV. Ellis also reveals that this went on for a solid week or two, and that data was gathered considering 40 countries.
Unfortunately, Netflix always hides views, so there is no knowing exactly how many accounts were watching Season 3 during the time Castlevania was in the Top 10, but this is still huge news for the series as a whole.
Ellis also gives us a small update on Season 4 of Castlevania, revealing that Coronavirus will not be delaying production; again, great news for fans of the popular animated series.
Castlevania is currently available exclusively on Netflix.
