DeadToast Entertainment and Devolver Digital's over the top shoot 'em up action game My Friend Pedro will be getting an R-rated TV series, which comes from a collaboration between Legendary Television, DJ2 Entertainment(Co-producer of the Sonic the Hedgehog movie), and 87North Productions.
According to the information revealed by The Hollywood Reporter, this My Friend Pedro TV series will be written by John Wick creator Derek Kolstad, who will also executive produce the show. This new series has been described as a half-hour dramedy, which actually fits the premise of the video game quite nicely.
Co-Director of John Wick David Leitch and Kelly McCormick, from 87North Productions, as well as DJ2 Entertainment's Dmitri M. Johnson, Stephan Bugaj, and Howard Bliss will also be executive producing this new TV series alongside Devolver Digital Co-Founder Mike Wilson.
My Friend Pedro is a game that immeditely reminded players of the John Wick series, so having Derek Kolstad not only producing, but also writing the TV series is almost too perfect to be true — especially since My Friend Pedro Creator Victor Ågren has mentioned in the past that the game was inspired by Kolsted's John Wick.
Unfortunately, no more details about this My Friend Project TV series were revealed, so we will have to keep waiting for more information from the producers. With that said, and considering all of the talent behind this production, it seems that it will be a great action series that no fan of My Friend Pedro or the John Wick series would want to miss out on.
My Friend Pedro is currently available for the Nintendo Switch, Steam, and has somewhat recently been released for the PlayStation 4 in April of this year — for those who may want to know more about this rather unusual, albeit ridiculously entertaining over the top action game before the TV series launches.
