The Witcher has reached a milestone as the upcoming Netflix show has officially wrapped filming.
"
That’s a wrap on season one! I have enough gray hair to play Geralt now, but it’s been the best year of my life," Showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich has announced on Twitter. "
So grateful to the writers, the cast, and the exceptional crew who worked their asses off to make the Continent come to life."
Now that production has finally finished up, we may get an official poster (or even a proper teaser trailer) announcing the brand-new TV show's premiere date soon. Rumor has it that
The Witcher will be dropped on December 20th, but the team at Netflix has not confirmed this information just yet.
Showrun by Hissrich (
The Defenders, The Umbrella Academy),
The Witcher will tell the story of Geralt of Rivia, a monster hunter who does his best to be a decent human in a violent and indecent world.
Sean Daniel, Jason Brown and Platige Image's Jarek Sawko and Tomek Bagiński are producing the show, with Henry Cavill (
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Mission Impossible: Fallout) playing Geralt.
Based on the best-selling fantasy series, “The Witcher” is an epic tale of fate and family. Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. But when destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress, and a young princess with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together.
The Witcher will premiere on Netflix in Q4 2019.
