The Simpsons: Hit & Run is an iconic action-adventure game which released for the GameCube, PlayStation 2, Xbox, and PC all the way back in 2003. It was developed by Radical Entertainment and published by Vivendi Universal. The game proved to be a financial and critical hit. To this day, it's remembered fondly as a classic of its time.
There have been
hopes that a remaster or spiritual successor would come along one day but, alas, sixteen years have passed since the game's initial debut and nothing of the sort has come to fruition. However, the producer of the classic game recently discussed the prospect of a remaster with
LAD Bible wherein he made it clear that such a thing could indeed occur.
"I could see it on multiple different types of platforms as a remake or remaster. It would have to take the parties who are in charge of the property to want that to happen and someone out there to decide that they were going to go out and do it. But absolutely, it would be fun to explore those characters and that universe again, that work again," Vlad Ceraldi explained.
Ceraldi then revealed that, at some point within the sixteen years since
The Simpsons: Hit & Run debuted, there were conversations about a remaster but they weren't serious and evidently nothing came of them. The producer continued, describing how a remaster would allow them to fully bring to life their original vision for the game.
It would be wonderful to reinvest in how you can control the characters, how you can control the world, how much of the world you can explore in detail. So there's a lot more fidelity you can go for as far as content exploration than we were able to do in that particular era. There were a lot of references put into the game, but we didn't get everything. There's a lot more things that could be done and that would be fascinating for sure.
