Earlier this month, Netflix
released a batch of images from the upcoming series,
The Witcher. We saw Henry Cavill as Geralt, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, and Freya Allan as Ciri; but, fans were quick to point out a missing character that's almost as integral to Geralt's adventure: his trusty steed, Roach.
Well, after enough clamoring from fans, Netflix has finally delivered a first look at the duo. Cavill also shared the image along with the caption:
"The road to San Diego is long. The good news is, on her worst day, Roach beats the company of Men, Elves, Gnomes and even Dwarves. She's not always easy, but she knows more than most and cares just enough to be the only kind of company worth enjoying."
Cavill is obviously referenced
The Witcher panel that'll take place at San Diego Comic-Con on July 19 at 2:15 p.m. in Hall H. The highly anticipated panel will feature cast members such as Cavill, Chalotra, and Allan, along with showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich.
While many will be quick to compare the Netflix show to the video game series, it should be noted that
The Witcher adaptation is based on the best-selling fantasy fooks by Andrzej Sapkowski. While it's true the video games were also inspired by the novels, we can probably expect quite a few differences in the series.
Netflix has only announced a fall premiere window for
The Witcher, but it's possible we could get an exact date at the panel this week, and perhaps some footage if we're lucky.
