The show's official series premiere won't be available to stream on Netflix until next month, but it looks as if the streaming giant is ready to go all in on the project, as The Witcher has just been renewed for a second season.
Obviously, with a month still left until debut of the first season, details on the planned second season are sparse. Nevertheless, what we do know is that season 2 of the fantasy drama is slated to debut sometime in 2021.
In addition to Cavill, The Witcher will also star Anya Chalotra (The ABC Murders) as Yennefer and Freya Allan (Into The Badlands) as Ciri, who are expected to return for the show's sophomore outing.
The Witcher is currently set to premiere on December 20, 2019 and comes from showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, who is adapting the book series of the same name by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski.
