Eisenhorn is the name of an upcoming live-action TV series based on the popular Warhammer 40,000 miniature game and video game series, which will be brought to life thanks to Big Light Productions.
Frank Spotnitz, the creator of the acclaimed "Man in the High Castle" series, new series will be Eisenhorn's showrunner, as well its executive producer — and will be basing this new show on novels by british author Dan Abnett.
Set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, Eisenhorn will focus on Inquisitor Gregor Eisenhorn and his band of investigators — who will be fighting to save humanity from aliens, heretics, and demons; reportedly drawing inspiration from genres such as sci-fi, fantasy, and crime.
"We are delighted to collaborate with Games Workshop to develop the beloved visionary world of Warhammer 40,000 into a TV series. Warhammer 40,000 is steeped in rich and complex lore, with a myriad of traditions and stories that have accumulated over time in this thrilling and complex world, making it one of the most exciting properties to adapt for television audiences and the franchise’s loyal global fanbase. There is nothing else like it on television, and we are incredibly excited to tap into our own experience creating imaginative, complex and compelling worlds to bring this incredible saga to the screen," explained Eisenhorn showrunner Frank Spotnitz in the press release.
It is still too early to know any official release dates for Eisenhorn, but with Spotnitz attached to the project and drawing inspiration from the works of Warhammer 40,000 author Dan Abnett, it seems that the show is already in good hands.
