While the status of the live-action Warhammer 40K series to be led and produced by Henry Cavill seems to be bogged down in creative differences and drama (*cough* Female Custodes *cough*), and with the release of Space Marine 2 right around the corner, we have some additional Warhammer 40,000-related news that will make fans of the brutal tabletop war game happy!
The announcement was made last week during Gamescom's opening livestream. The reveal included a teaser trailer teasing the upcoming animated anthology, and we've included it below!
Prime Video has announced the release of Secret Level, an adult-animated anthology series. Produced by Amazon MGM Studios in collaboration with Blur Studio, the series will consist of 15 visually stunning episodes. Each episode will feature original short stories inspired by iconic video games.
This groundbreaking series aims to take viewers on an immersive journey into both new and familiar gaming worlds. By bridging the gap between the gaming and entertainment industries, Secret Level will bring together a wide array of gaming intellectual properties in one series.
The animated anthology is inspired by the following games: Armored Core, Concord, Crossfire, Dungeons & Dragons, Exodus, Honor of Kings, Mega Man, New World: Aeternum, PAC-MAN, PlayStation (including various beloved entities from PlayStation Studios), Sifu, Spelunky, The Outer Worlds, Unreal Tournament, and Warhammer 40,000.
The Warhammer-focused episode will feature Lieutenant Titus and will be titled "Chaos." It is directed by Patrick Osborne, and rumor has it that Clive Standen will be lending his voice to Titus. Will it tie into the upcoming Space Marine 2 video game that will hit retailers next month? We'll have to wait and see!
Secret Level is from the creative minds behind Love, Death & Robots and will see Tim Miller as the executive producer, with Dave Wilson serving as executive producer and supervising director.
The global release of Secret Level is scheduled for December 10, exclusively on Prime Video, and will be available in over 240 countries and territories.
Space Marine 2 will hit retailers on September 5th, 2024. Click here to order Space Marine 2 from Amazon.com!
