Everwild is Rare's brand-new intellectual property, and it was officially announced during last year's X019 event. Since the announcement was made, however, little to no information about the project has actually been revealed.

In July of this year, during Microsoft's special Xbox Games Showcase presentation, Rare took the time to release a proper trailer for Everwild, and the upcoming title looks absolutely stunning. Unfortunately, Rare didn't give players an official release date; not even a tentative launch window.

Just recently, Studio Head at Rare Craig Duncan revealed that Everwild has lost Creative Director Simon Woodroffe, although he reassures that their new intellectual property is still in good hands, and that players should still expect an unforgettable experience.

"We thank Simon for all his hard work on Everwild and wish him the very best of luck for the future. The Everwild team are in good hands and passionate about building a game that will give players unforgettable experiences in a natural and magical world," Duncan revealed to Video Games Chronicle.

While it is reassuring to know that Everwild is still in good hands, we don't know what this could mean for the game as a whole, especially when it comes to release dates. We do know that the game is in development for the Xbox Series X/S and will also launch on Xbox Game Pass, but we'll just have to wait for further updates on this new, and ambitious project from Rare.

Introducing EVERWILD, a brand new IP from Rare. Unique and unforgettable experiences await in a natural and magical world.

Everwild is currently in development for the Xbox Series X/S.
