Xbox's most iconic and popular shooter is set for the silver screen — and just in time for the franchise's 20th anniversary!

Based on the first-person shooter series of the same name, Paramount is bringing a live-action Halo television series to life. Just like the games themselves, the series is set during the 26th-century war between the United Nations Space Command and the alien Covenant. Of course, John-117 A.K.A. Master Chief will be leading the charge for humanity.

The cast includes Pablo Schreiber as the Master Chief himself as well as Natascha McElhorne, Charlie Murphy, Shabana Azmi, Bokeem Woodbine, and Kate Kennedy, among others. Jen Taylor reprises the role of Cortana. Episode directors include Otto Bathurst, Jonathan Liebesman, M. J. Bassett, Roel Reiné, and Jet Wilkinson

Said series will debut on Paramount's streaming service, Paramount+ in early 2022. Shortly after the teaser had managed to leak online, Paramount opted to officially release the very first teaser for the upcoming series.

It doesn't show us much, but what it does is sure to get fans of the franchise excited! Glimpses of John-117 himself, his iconic armour, and Cortana's voice welcoming Master Chief. Check it out below (via ComicBookMovie.com):

Hi. I created an account just to comment on the fact that in the article you say Halo is finally coming to the silver screen. Its not. The silver screen is a specific reference to the projection of light onto a cinema screen. Please try to not be so amateur.
Looking forward to this show.
