The fan favorite space battling simulator has just revealed a huge and important easter egg regarding the presence of an alien race that exists in the Elite: Dangerous universe. The species is known as the Thagroids, an alien race that has shown up in previous Frontier games before. The encounter is rather chilling as the player's ship seems to cease functioning as it gets closer to the Thagroid ship. And as the ship begins to take off only then can players gain control of their spacecraft.

But this isn't the only sighting of Thagroid presences in this game, as other players have encountered buried ships and Thagroid barnacles located throughout the universe. But finally seeing a functional Thagroid ship has fans wondering if Frontier has a trick our two up their sleeve.

Some have even speculated if there may be a large in-game event where a Thagroid battle takes places. But this is purely all speculation at this point, although a tweet from the official Elite: Dangerous twitter account seems to hint at something more coming.

Only time will tell what happens between players and Thagroids in the far future.
