What has made video games so special as the medium has advanced over the decades has been the constant desire for adventure and discovery. While most games have an aspect of exploration in mind, there is something special about how games tailored specifically to the here do so well and bringing out the adventurers in us.
With games like Tomb Raider, Assassin's Creed, and Uncharted, there has always been a fair share of daring adventures and the occasional swashbuckling; however, there aren't many multiplayer games that foster that same feeling. Rare's Sea of Thieves sought to change that with the release of their online multiplayer game that has players create a crew and become a band of pirates.
Created in 2017, the game has enjoyed many years of changes and updates that have expanded what players can do and explore, and next year has promised to be their biggest yet! Yesterday saw an update that would help lay the groundwork for a 2021 change promised to be huge. This update also includes some fun cosmetic additions, and according to a Twitter user, one of those updates is cannon flares that can be added to your ship! Further inspection into the game has also revealed that this update is, in fact, legit and hopefully the start of other fun additions to the game.
What comes next for Sea of Thieves may be unknown but will, without a doubt, help to create an even more immersive pirate experience. We would love to hear your thoughts on what has been added in the comments below!
