Some new information gathered during this past weekend has revealed that Microsoft's Xbox One was the best-selling console on Black Friday; narrowly beating out the Nintendo Switch.

As revealed by GamesIndustry.biz, the Xbox One was heavily discounted during Black Friday, which prompted sales — especially since the console was also bundled in with heavy hitting titles like Sea of Thieves, Minecraft, and Fortnite.

According to the information revealed by Tesco and other retailers, over 100,000 Xbox One consoles were sold last week, which is only slightly trailing behind last year's Black Friday sales, and managing to outsell the Nintendo Switch by "just a handful of consoles."

The Nintendo Switch was also bundled in with some heavy hitting titles like Nintendo Labo, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and the recently released versions of Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield; even then, Microsoft's Xbox One managed to stay on top.

It is worth mentioning that the Xbox One may have sold more units than the Nintendo Switch, but the latter actually made more in revenue; this is, however, due to the fact that the Xbox One retailed at £129.99 while the Switch Lite — the budget version of the Nintendo Switch — retailed at £179.99.
