Back in May, when
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was revealed, came
reports that John "Soap" MacTavish would also be making a return in the next
Call of Duty instalment alongside Captain Price. Now, the narrative director of the upcoming first-person shooter has similarly teased that some familiar faces will be making a comeback.
Taylor Kurosaki is a narrative director at Infinity Ward. A fan recently put the question to him: should we expect to see more than just Captain Price return in
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare? Kurosaki (
@taylorkurosaki) promptly got back to them with an affirmative
"Yep."
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare isn't a direct sequel to the subseries of the same name but rather a soft reboot of sorts. It'll include the same core characters, like Captain Price, but not revolve around the same events.
Soap will likely be one of the returning characters that Kurosaki is referring to given the aformentioned reports and the fact that he was so crucial to the previous
Modern Warfare games. As for who else, well, Ghost is a safe bet. Simon "Ghost" Riley briefly featured in
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 but quickly became a fan-favourite character (probably because of his awesome skull mask).
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is set to release on October 25th for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
