For a long while, Guardians of the Galaxy star Dave Bautista has made it clear that his dream role would be playing Marcus Fenix in a live-action Gears of War movie. He made this known in June of last year when he revealed that he's been badgering execs for the role for quite some time.

In a recent tweet, Bautista stated that he's done everything in his power to land the starring role in a Gears of War movie. Unfortunately for him and the abundance of fans who have been petitioning for him to play the role of Marcus Fenix, the industry are apparently having none of it.

"They’re listening. And they could give AF! 🙄.. but thank you for the support. Believe me when I say I’ve tried everything to make this happen," read the actor's tweet (@DaveBautista). You can see the social media post for yourself below.

The Coalition are working on a live-action Gears of War movie and Bautista, with all of his enthusiasm, does seem to be a perfect choice to play the character of Marcus Fenix. It's therefore odd that they would pass him up.

Gears of War 5 will officially release for Xbox One and PC on September 10th, 2019.
