GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Star Dave Bautista Wants To Play Marcus Fenix In The GEARS OF WAR Film

Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers: Infinity War star Dave Bautista recently made it clear that he has been actively pursuing the role of Marcus Fenix in a live-action Gears of War film...

Dave Bautista has made a strong shift from wrestling to acting, appearing as Drax in the Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers: Infinity War films as well as starring in, the soon to be released, Hotel Artemis.

But one role the actor recently made clear that he would love to play is Marcus Fenix of the Gears of War games in a live-action film. During a recent interview with Gamespot, via Twitter, a fan asked:

I’ve enjoyed basically all the film’s you’ve been in and was a huge fan during your WWE run. What’s your dream role? I’m hoping they ask you to play Marcus Fenix in the Gears of War movie! #AskDave

Bautista's reply is one this Gears of War fan, and surely many others, would be very excited to hear:

I’ve been pursuing Gears of War for YEARS now. I believe it’s in the hands of Universal Studios. And I’ve been knocking on their door and badgering them and they are so sick of me (laughs), phoning in and asking them where they are with that project. But, yes, Marcus Fenix is absolutely a dream role for me. I want that role. So, if you can start a petition…

Could there be a more perfect fit for the role?

Check out Gamespot's tweet below:

The film adaptation of the hit series was announced back in 2016 with a partnership between Microsoft and Universal. Back then; Studio head for the development group at The Coalition, Rod Fegusson told Variety, “As a way to support the franchise the next logical step was to make the movie. We’d done comics and novels in the past but the opportunity to work with Universal to bring the movie to life was perfect.”

Hopefully there will be some sort of update related to the film soon. What do you think about Dave Bautista as Marcus Fenix? Do you have somebody else in mind for the role?
