GEARS OF WAR 4 Makers Shift Their Full Focus Into "Making GEARS 5 The Best Game Possible"
The time has come to say goodbye to new Customization Content and Gear Packs in Gears of War 4, as The Coalition has decided to focus entirely on the upcoming Gear 5 and making it "the best game possible..."
The Coalition is winding down support for Gears of War 4 as the company will stop releasing new Customization Content and Gear Packs. According to the developers, they still have plenty of Special Events and more for Gears of War 4 on the road to Gears 5’s release later this year, but it's rather safe to say that you shouldn't expect to see any new playable characters or maps in GOW4 from now on.
"As we close another chapter in the story of Gears 4, we want to take the opportunity to say thank you to all of you, our players, for your continued support," The Coalition said. "For a long time now, Gears of War 4 has seen more players online every day compared to the same point in the post-launch life of the incredible Gears of War 3. This is beyond humbling to us as the new custodians of the franchise and a testament to the passion of an incredible community we get to call our own."
That announcement is the result of the studio's decision to shift their focus into "making Gears 5 the best game possible." This Xbox One and Windows 10 title is expected to launch in October (but its just a rumor), so let’s hope The Coalition will use that time to deliver a truly mesmerizing experience.
Gears 5 sees Kait taking front-and-center as the series' first female protagonist. The title will also continue the story of Marcus Fenix and those who managed to survive in the post-Locust War era.
In Gears 5 as Kait, journey across the biggest, most beautiful Gears world ever created. Play solo or with a friend in local split-screen co-op, or online co-op and experience every mode in 4K Ultra HD resolution with stunning HDR at a smooth 60 frames per second.
Gears 5 is coming in 2019.
