Xbox One Didn't Have Any Positively Reviewed Exclusives In 2018, Metacrtic Reveals
Metacritic recently tallied up the best reviewed games of 2018. Calling attention to positively reviewed exclusives, the site revealed that the Xbox One didn't have any in 2018.
2018 was a great year for exclusives - that is, on the PlayStation and Nintendo side of things. Last year saw the releae of Detroit: Become Human, Marvel's Spider-Man, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, God of War, and many more great console-exclusives - the latter of those even won "Game of the Year" from The Game Awards.
However, sadly, Xbox One didn't have any true exclusives that received higher than a 75 rating on Metacritic. The site recently posted a rundown of 2018's best reviewed games - unsurprisingly Red Dead Redemption 2 topped the list. Metacritic's article revealed that the PlayStation 4 had 13 "good exclusives" (that's a 75 or higher), the Nintendo Switch had 10, PC had 33, but Xbox One had none.
Here's what Metacritic had to say about the surprising revelation: "Microsoft failed to offer a compelling case to pick up an Xbox One rather than another console in 2018. The best 'console exclusive' titles released for XB1 last year could also be played on your PC, and there wasn't a single game exclusive to Xbox One alone that received positive reviews from critics."
What do you think about Metacritic's discovery? What was your favourite exclusive of 2018? Here's hoping Microsoft can do better in 2019 with exclusives like Gears 5.
