This Thursday, May 7th, Microsoft will finally give us a look at the future of gaming on the Xbox Series X. This week's edition of Inside Xbox will focus on gameplay from Microsoft's global partners for the Xbox Series X.
Ahead of the event, Microsoft released a teaser that many have interpreted as the new boot screen and start up sound for the next-gen console. The description teases, "Boot up a new episode of Inside Xbox this Thursday, May 7 @8am PT for a first look at gameplay from our partners for the Xbox Series X." If the mention of the words "boot up" weren't indication enough, the contents of the video certainly seem to confirm this. Have a look and listen below.
If this isn't the new start up sound for the Xbox Series X, then what else could it be? Why would Microsoft even have it included if not as a preview? If that weren't enough, if you watch the video with closed captions, it reads: "New Xbox Sound."
We'll likely find out for certain if this is the start up sound and screen for the Xbox Series X on Thursday. As a reminder, the May 7th episode, called "Xbox 20/20," will give us a look at next-gen gameplay, trialers, and sneak peeks from partners and indie developers across the industry, including a first-look at gameplay from Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed Valhalla. It sounds like Microsoft is saving its first-party games from Xbox Game Studios for another event in July.
You can tune in to the Xbox 20/20 on Thursday, May 7 at 8:00 a.m. PDT / 11 a.m. EDT. It will be shown on Mixer, Twitch, Facebook, Twitter,a nd YouTube.
