During this year's Game Developers Conference, independent developer Motion Twin revealed that Dead Cells, their acclaimed Metroidvania game, had sold over an impressive 1 million copies since its official release, after exiting its Early Access stage, in August of 2018.

Dead Cells is currently available for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Steam(Windows, macOS, Linux), With Sony and Nintendo's platforms being the ones that have helped the most with the game's success in regards to sales.

According to Motion Twin game designer, Sébastien Bérnard, 60 percent of the over 1 million units sold account for PC, mentioning that "console is a big part of it", and revealing that this is especially true for the Nintendo Switch — which is the platform Dead Cells has sold the most copies on.

When it comes to indie titles like Motion Twin's acclaimed Dead Cells, the Nintendo Switch seems to be the platform of choice amongst players; mainly due to its versatile and portable nature. And it is great seeing a title such as Dead Cells selling as well as it has, regarldes of the console.
