Motion Twin's Dead Cells has given people a lot to talk about, especially lately — as the RogueVania title, as the developers themselves describe this game's genre, has been quite the hit amongst players.
In March, as a matter of fact, Motion Twin revealed that
Dead Cells had already managed to sell over 1 million copies; with the Nintendo Switch being the console where the game sold best since its launch in August of last year.
As Motion Twin celebrates the release of their biggest-ever expansion for
Dead Cells,
Rise of the Giant, they have take the time to make a small announcement — and it is quite the big one, too. As of today, Motion Twin's acclaimed RogueVania title,
Dead Cells, has managed to sell a staggering 2 million copies. Our hats are off to you, Motion Twin, you deserve this.
You grew up with the roguelikes, witnessed the rise of the roguelites and even the birth of the roguelite-lites? We'd now like to present for your consideration our RogueVania, the illegitimate child of a modern Roguelite (Rogue Legacy, Binding of Isaac, Enter the Gungeon, Spelunky, etc.) and an old-school MetroidVania (Castlevania: SotN and its ilk).
Dead Cells is currently available for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Steam.
