Deadline reports that Ant-Man and The Wasp star Walton Goggins has joined the cast of Prime Video's Fallout TV series in a lead role. The trade doesn't share any specific character details, but note that he's likely playing a Ghoul (a mutated human who suffered prolonged exposure to radiation during the Great War that left our planet in tatters).
Westworld's Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy are developing the hit video game property for Amazon, with Nolan - the brother of The Dark Knight and Inception director Christopher Nolan - at the helm of the premiere.
A logline for the series explains that, "The world of Fallout is one where the future envisioned by Americans in the late 1940s explodes upon itself through a nuclear war in 2077. The magic of the Fallout world is the harshness of the wasteland set against the previous generation’s utopian idea of a better world through nuclear energy."
Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner have been tapped as Fallout's showrunners and production will begin later this year, presumably for a 2023 debut.
As well as his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we're sure you'll recognise Goggins from his work in TV shows like Justified, Vice Principals, and the upcoming Apple TV+ limited series, The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey. On the big screen, his credits include movies like Tomb Raider and Django Unchained.
With Goggins tapped for a lead role in Fallout, we now hope to have more news to share soon.
