MONSTER HUNTER: Chinese Trailer For Paul W.S. Anderson's Film Looks Significantly Better

The Chinese trailer for Paul W.S. Anderson's upcoming Monster Hunter live-action film has shown off footage that makes the movie look more and more like the Monster Hunter series.

It is no secret that the Monster Hunter live-action film has some fans of Capcom's monster-hunting video game series concerned. The first official trailer was poorly received by fans of the series, as it was way too much of a departure from the source material.

This isn't really something that we didn't see coming, since many eyebrows were raised the minute it was revealed that Paul W.S. Anderson was attached to the project. His work on the live-action film adaptations of Resident Evil, another intellectual property by Capcom, was also poorly received by fans of the survival horror series.

From a visual standpoint, Paul W.S. Anderson's Monster Hunter movie does have quite a few things going for it, particularly the designs of the monsters we have seen so far, and some of the characters do actually look like they came right out of one of the games; without including the US Army characters, of course.

Yes, the Monster Hunter movie will feature US Army soldiers, which is one of the main complaints that fans have, even when it looks like the movie will not really be taking place on Earth, and we won't be seeing tanks roaming the desert or helicopters flying around — at least not for the entirety of the movie.

A recent trailer for the film has actually been better received by fans of the Monster Hunter series, as it does deliver on pretty much everything that a Monster Hunter movie should. The teaser particularly ends with our first glimpse at the series' cat-like creatures called Palicos, so that's a pretty good sign.

Take a look:

Behind our world, there is another: a world of dangerous and powerful monsters that rule their domain with deadly ferocity. When an unexpected sandstorm transports Captain Artemis (Milla Jovovich) and her unit (TI Harris, Meagan Good, Diego Boneta) to a new world, the soldiers are shocked to discover that this hostile and unknown environment is home to enormous and terrifying monsters immune to their firepower.

Monster Hunter is expected to hit theatres worldwide this December.
