Whoever's running the official Twitter account for Paramount's upcoming Sonic The Hedgehog movie (@SonicMovie) seems to be well-versed in both the Sonic community as well as Twitter culture.
A current trend that's doing the rounds on Twitter is the #TenYearsChallenge wherein users post a picture of themselves currently beside one of them from a decade ago. The Sonic The Hedgehog movie's Twitter attempted to hop on this train, but had an issue as Sonic's new look hasn't been fully revealed just yet.
The tweet featurs a picture of Sonic wielding a sword from the 2009 Nintendo Wii video-game Sonic and the Black Knight, beside a picture of a simply loading wheel.
This is clearly meant to taunt fans and poke fun at the mysterious aura that surrounds Sonic's redesign - the very first poster for the film features the iconic speedster almost wholly shrouded in darkness.
Perhaps this tweet is meant to tease a forthcoming unveiling of the design. Paramount must have something interesting up their sleeve, otherwise what's the point in all the secrecy?
What do you think of the tweet? What are your thoughts on Sonic's redesign? Are you looking forward to the Sonic The Hedgehog movie?
Sonic The Hedgehog is set to race into theatres on November 8th, 2019.
