In December of last year, developer Motion Twin gave fans of Dead Cells a rather pleasant surprise — as they announced that their critically acclaimed 2D Roguelike/Metroidvania was getting some additional content in the form of "The Bad Seed" DLC; announcing it with a hilariously morbid teaser trailer.

Motion Twin has given some details about Dead Cells: The Bad Seed, and this downloadable content will be giving players some new weapons, new enemies to fight, a new boss that the developers say is quite challenging, and two extra levels that expand on the world of Dead Cells.

As Dead Cells: The Bad Seed DLC becomes available today, developer Motion Twin has shared an action-packed, and rather hilarious animated trailer to make players excited for this additional content. For those of you wondering, The Bad Seed is not free, as it will cost $4.99 USD — which is, quite honestly, very much worth the price; considering how great the previously released content has been.

You grew up with the roguelikes, witnessed the rise of the roguelites and even the birth of the roguelite-lites? We'd now like to present for your consideration our RogueVania, the illegitimate child of a modern Roguelite (Rogue Legacy, Binding of Isaac, Enter the Gungeon, Spelunky, etc.) and an old-school MetroidVania (Castlevania: SotN and its ilk).

Dead Cells is currently available for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Steam.
