Rockstar recently confirmed that they're hard at work on Grand Theft Auto 6, but it's clearly far too soon for a release date at this stage. While it's safe to assume this is a game they've been working on for a few years now (between all those GTA V remasters, of course), expecting this highly anticipated franchise to arrive in stores before Christmas is sadly far too optimistic.
While we've heard rumblings GTA VI will take us to modern-day Vice City (where we're hoping Tommy Vercetti still rules the roost), it might not be too long before we get some concrete details.
According to prominent leader "Tez2," the plan is for the game to be revealed this year with a trailer similar to the one we got for GTA V all those years ago (for a reminder, check it out below). Showing a "work-in-progress" version of this sixth chapter, it's likely we'll learn much more about the setting and characters.
It's worth noting that Rockstar frequently reveals its games in the Fall, and seeing as that announcement has already left fans champing at the bit for more, it's by no means a bad idea to let everyone speculate before a big reveal in September or October. We'll see, but you have to hope this means GTA VI will be in our hands either in 2023 or early 2024 at the very latest.
What are your big hopes for the next Grand Theft Auto game?
