A couple of months ago, Marvel revealed that Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics' highly anticipated
Marvel's Avengers video game would be getting an
Iron Man tie-in comic that would shed some light on the events that end up leading to the game's A-Day.
This Iron Man tie-in comic is actually releasing this December, giving fans a little something to sink their teeth in while they patiently wait for the game to become available in May of next year.
Today we have some great news for those fans of the
Earth's Mightiest Heroes who simply cannot wait for
Marvel's Avengers to release, as we have some new information that reveals the game will also be getting a prequel tie-in novel.
Marvel's Avengers: The Exctinction Key is being written by New York Times best-selling author Greg Keyes, published by Titan Books, and expected to release on the
31st of March in 2020; just a month and a half before
Marvel's Avengers finally becomes available.
According to the information shared by IGN,
Marvel's Avengers: The Extinction Key will see the Avengers facing an ancient organisation called the Zodiac, and the book will have the main team of Avengers interacting with other iconic characters from the Marvel universe like Doctor Stephen Strange, Doctor Voodoo, and even members of SHIELD.
More information about the book was not shared, but this will definitely help fans scratch that itch for an Avengers game while they wait for Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix's
Marvel's Avengers.
Marvel’s Avengers begins at A-Day, where Captain America, Iron Man, the Hulk, Black Widow, and Thor are unveiling a hi-tech Avengers Headquarters in San Francisco — including the reveal of their own helicarrier powered by an experimental energy source. The celebration turns deadly when a catastrophic accident results in massive devastation. Blamed for the tragedy, the Avengers disband. Five years later, with all Super Heroes outlawed and the world in peril, the only hope is to reassemble Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
Marvel's Avengers will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia on the 15th of May in 2020.
