Grasshopper Manufacture and Nintendo surprised fans of the No More Heroes series by announcing that the long-requested No More Heroes III was in the works, and that it would be releasing for the Nintendo Switch at a yet to be determined date in 2020
The announcement was originally made in June of 2019 during Nintendo's E3 presentation, where fans got to see a very cryptic trailer that saw a mysterious man fighting an army of aliens, only to be revealed that this man was none other than Travis Touchdown.
Needless to say, fans were extremely excited to see the series getting the love it rightfully deserves. Unfortunately, not much has been revealed about the game since No More Heroes III was announced; by the way things are looking, it seemed like the game would not be meeting its initial release date.
Today we have some sour news for those who were still hoping to play No More Heroes III this year, as series creator and director Goichi Suda has revealed that the game is no longer releasing in 2020, and apologising to fans for the disappointing news.
The game's director does mention that the developers at Grasshopper Manufacture are doing the best to release a top quality product, and this led them to the decision of pushing back No More Heroes III until it meets their standards. He also reveals that the team of developers are now targetting 2021 for the release.
Suda also has some uplifting news for fans, as he reveals that The Boys' artist Darick Robertson is joining the team, and will be providing illustrations for No More Heroes III; illustrations that Suda promises will be shared in the near future.
No More Heroes III is currently in development exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
