The Lord of the Rings: Gollum has been in development for a while now, and it was officially announced in March of 2019. As the name aptly suggests, the game will be focusing on Gollum(also known as Sméagol) and his journey through Middle-earth; more specifically Mordor.
We know that the game is being developed by Daedelic Entertainment, but much about the development itself hasn't, but we do know that The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is an action-adventure title with stealth elements; something that is actually quite fitting to the character.
Daedalic Entertaiment CEO Carsten Fichtelmann initially revealed that The Lord of the Rings: Gollum wouldn't look hyper-realistic, but the more we've seen about the project, the more it actually looks like The Lord of the Rings trilogy directed by Peter Jackson — which is rather surprising, albeit not unexpected.
What is even more surprising is the fact that The Lord of the Rings: Gollum has recently, and officially been confirmed to releae for the Nitnendo Switch. This information was cheekily revealed in a recent video shared by GamesRadar, in which Daedelic Entertainment Project Manager Saide Haberstroh revealed a bunch of details about the upcoming title, and also confirmed the release on Nintendo's console.
As it is to be expected, the Nintendo Switch version will likely be slightly downgraded in order to properly run on the handheld hybrid console. While not confirmed, we can assume that the Nintendo Switch version of The Lord of the Rings: Gollum will also release alongside the other confirmed platforms.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is expected to release for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC in 2021.
