IO Interactive and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced that the critically acclaimed 2016 reboot of Hitman is officially getting a sequel after a series of smaller and bigger leaks, elegantly titled Hitman 2 (not to be confused with 2002’s Hitman 2: Silent Assassin) two weeks ago. It was also confirmed that this time the game will not be episodic or focused on "seasons," like the last Hitman.
Hitman 2 will offer a new gameplay mode, Sniper Assassin, bringing online co-op to the series for the first time as two players will team up for long-ranged sniper-based missions to eliminate targets from afar. Sniper Assassin is available to play now as a pre-order incentive for Hitman 2 and one clever Redditor to extract the mission's source code and it looks like the game will feature six big locations.
The sequel seems to be a global adventure, allowing players to kill target all around the world, from Colombia, New Zealand, Miami, North Atlantic, Mumbai to one extra location in the US titled Skunk. The studio promises to deliver a true sandbox experience and their demo Miami level displays almost 2,000 NPCs at once. Considering Hitman 2's scope, those levels can be described as mini-campaigns.
Travel the globe and track your targets across exotic sandbox locations in HITMAN 2. From sun-drenched streets to dark and dangerous rainforests, nowhere is safe from the world’s most creative assassin, Agent 47 in the ultimate spy thriller story.
Hitman 2 will release for the PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 on November 13, 2018.
