IO Interactive took an interesting approach to releasing Hitman on the current generation of consoles by utilising an episodic structure and spreading out the debut of each chapter. However, it has now been confirmed that a second season is in the works. French website Gamergen (via NeoGAF) broke the news after it was made official at the Paris Games Week, and it sounds like fans should be excited!

Not only will features like Elusive Targets and Escalation Missions make a return, but the second season will continue using an episodic structure and looks set to utilise the same launcher to keep all of the unlocks and save date in the same place. That obviously means that content from Hitman season one will be available to players who devoted a lot of time to unlocking certain costumes and weapons.

Season two will feature new missions and locations, but more content may still be released for the first. That's currently set to hit stores on January 31st next year if you'd rather not download them!
