In a plenty of ways, Arkane's
Prey reboot was a miracle. After the cancelled Human Head Studios'
Prey 2, it seemed that the franchise was dead. But Bethesda didn't give up and asked Arkane Studios, the creators of
Dark Messiah and
Dishonored to take care of the franchise. According to critics, the developer did a great job, but the game didn't sell well, with over 600 thousand copies sold on PC.
During a Bethesda Softworks event at PAX East, the DuelShockers crew met up with Bethesda’s Senior Vice President of Marketing Pete Hines to get new information about the future of the
Prey series. “
As with a lot of stuff, we’re not a massive publisher that just churns out a ton of titles. We never have been. We really stick with our stuff after it launches, as we have with Prey," Hines stated.
"
But yeah, I don’t think you’ve heard the last of Prey. I just couldn’t tell you precisely when you might hear more.” the vice president of marketing concluded. Does it mean that we should expect to see
Prey 2 (hopefully the studio will pick a different, less jinxed name) at the upcoming E3? Well, the rumor says that Arkane is working an a brand new DLC (comparable in scope to
Dishonored: Death of the Outsider) that will be set on the Moon. Bethesda's press conference will be held on Sunday, June 10 at 6:30 p.m. PT/9:30 p.m. ET/2:30 a.m. GMT on June 11/11:30 a.m. AEST on June 11.
