Arkane's Prey reboot was a miracle. After the cancelled Human Head's version of Prey 2, it seemed that the franchise was ultimately dead. But Bethesda didn't give up and asked Arkane Studios, the creators of Dark Messiah and Dishonored to take care of the future of the series. According to critics, the studio did a great job, but the game didn't sell well, with only over 600 thousand copies sold on PC.
In March, Bethesda posted a short gif suggesting that Arkane is working on a new expansion that will give players a chance to visit and discover the secrets of the Moon. That's where the mysterious Pytheas laboratories were located, directly in one of the Moon's craters. Another tease has basically confirmed that tease and even more, as this DLC will be released or revealed on July 10, 2018.
This date makes perfect sense as Bethesda's E3 press conference will also take place on June 10, so it's hard to think that it's some kind of coincidence. Unveiling the DLC will be just a formality, as Steam has updated the game's achievement list, adding words that give us pretty unambiguous "If you believed they put a man on the Moon" sentence. That's not all, and after translating KasmaCorp's (the main rival of TranStar in Prey's universe) binary code posted on Reddit, you'll get a chance to see this "mysterious" gif:
In Prey, you awaken aboard Talos I, a space station orbiting the moon in the year 2032. You are the key subject of an experiment meant to alter humanity forever – but things have gone terribly wrong. The space station has been overrun by hostile aliens and you are now being hunted. As you dig into the dark secrets of Talos I and your own past, you must survive using the tools found on the station -- your wits, weapons, and mind-bending abilities. The fate of the Talos I and everyone aboard is in your hands.
Prey is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC NOW!
