Thanks to games like
Pokemon GO, augmented reality, location-based mobile games are all the rage right now. We have games like
Harry Potter: Wizards Unite and
Ghostbusters World on the way, and now you can add one more to group -
The Walking Dead: Our World.
Inspired by AMC's hit television show which, in turn, is based on Robert Kirkman's series of graphic novels,
The Walking Dead: Our World puts you in the middle of a post-apocalyptic world overrun by zombies. Details are light at the moment, but AMC says players will be able to
"fight walkers wherever and whenever they want: on the streets, in the park and on their sofa." As you move in the real world, your character will move in the game. You'll be able to complete missions, rescue survivors, and discover stashes of supplies.
Additionally, the game will support multiplayer functionality as you'll be able to team up with others to complete weekly challenges and earn bigger rewards. Also helping you along the way will be NPC from AMC's television show, including Rick, Daryl, and Michonne.
The Walking Dead: Our World is set to launch globally on Thursday, July 12. However, you can
pre-register today. The game will be available on iOS and Android devices.
