Transformers: War for Cybertron: Siege was announced in February of this year, although video game aficionados shouldn't confuse it with the Transformers: War for Cybertron and Transformers: Fall of Cybertron games, as this is a new anime series produced by Netflix and Hasbro.
While this new anime series isn't the new "Transformers: Cybertron" game that players thought when they first heard of it, it is based on the same event that led to the fall of Cybertron, which is what makes Transformers: War for Cybertron: Siege so interesting; being the first anime series to focus on this origin story.
As a matter of fact, the live-action Bumblebee film did a pretty good job introducing audiences to Cybertron before the planet met its demise, but Transformers: War for Cybertron: Siege will be diving deep into this world-changing event, and the first teaser trailer was more than enough to get fans of the long-running franchise excited.
Today, and now that we are only three weeks away from the release of Transformers: War for Cybertron: Siege, Netflix and Hasbro have released a couple of posters for the upcoming anime series, as well as an exciting new trailer that sees Optimus Prime taking the blame for the destruction of Cybertron, in what is actually a rather emotional trailer.
Take a look:
TRANSFORMERS: WAR FOR CYBERTRON TRILOGY: SIEGE begins in the final hours of the devastating civil war between the Autobots and Decepticons. The war that has torn apart their home planet of Cybertron is at a tipping point. Two leaders, Optimus Prime and Megatron, both want to save their world and unify their people, but only on their own terms.
Transformers: War for Cybertron: Siege will become available on Netflix on Thursday the 30th of July.
