At its core,
Journey to the Savage Planet is an upbeat first-person adventure video game that will give you a unique chance to visit plenty of hand-crafted biomes. While the game will have a scripted story, developer Typhoon Studios is working hard to not force you to watch cut-scenes if exploring the game's bizarre universe is the only thing you want to do during your own
Journey to the Savage Planet.
Journey is being directed by Alex Hutchinson, the veteran of the
Far Cry and
Assassin’s Creed series (he helmed
Assassin's Creed III, which will return in its remastered edition this Friday on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, with the Nintendo Switch version coming in may), so you should definitely keep an eye on this particular
Savage Planet. The bad news is that
Journey has been pushed back and is now expected to launch in early 2020 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC – as another Epic Games Store exclusive.
In
Savage Planet, you play as "
an employee of Kindred Aerospace, which proudly touts its rating as the “4th Best Interstellar Exploration Company." To survive on the titular planet in the far-away corner of the universe, you will have to find the answer if it's actually fit for human habitation – on your own.

Journey to the Savage Planet is an upbeat first-person adventure game set in a bright and colorful alien world filled with weird and wonderful creatures. As an employee of Kindred Aerospace, which proudly touts its rating as the “4th Best Interstellar Exploration Company”, players will be dropped onto an uncharted planet deep in a fictitious, far-away corner of the universe. Launched with high hopes but little equipment and no real plan, players are tasked with exploring, cataloging alien flora and fauna and determining if the planet is fit for human habitation.
