After twelve long years since the release of
Half-Life 2: Episode 2, Valve is back with a new
Half-Life game. Keep you expectations tamed, however, as it isn't the fabled
Half-Life 3 but rather a virtual reality game that's set before the events of the
Half-Life 2 but after the events of the first
Half-Life game.
Half-Life: Alyx is a full-length virtual reality game with the fan-favourite character of Alyx Vance at its centre.
Valve has released an exciting announcement trailer for
Half-Life: Alyx which teases some story details and characters but predominantly shows off the awesome and action-packed gameplay.
Truly,
Half-Life: Alyx is looking like it could be the best virtual reality game yet. You can find out more over on
the official Half-Life website and
pre-purchase Half-Life: Alyx over on Steam. Given that Valve are responsible for Steam it's likely that the VR title will be exclusive to the platform.
Check out both the announcement trailer and official synopsis below:
Half-Life: Alyx is Valve’s VR return to the Half-Life series. It’s the story of an impossible fight against a vicious alien race known as the Combine, set between the events of Half-Life and Half-Life 2. Playing as Alyx Vance, you are humanity’s only chance for survival.
Half-Life: Alyx is set to release via Steam in March 2020.
