With Kemba Walker's contract ending after the coming season and the Charlotte Hornets not expected to make the playoffs anytime soon, Walker has been a popular name in trade discussions. There was even significant buzz during midseason last year when the Cleveland Cavaliers were flailing and were reportedly interested in acquiring the All-Star guard to partner him with LeBron James and Kevin Love.
Of course, no trade materialized then, but it remains to be seen whether Michael Jordan will end up trading his best asset next season if both sides can't come to terms on a contract extension before the deadline.
Walker, a 2x All-Star, has been perpetually undervalued and even NBA 2K19 seems to acknowledge his underrated status, giving him a modest 86 overall player rating. He averaged 22.1 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 5.6 apg, 1.1 spg, and 0.3 bpg last season.
