For months now, there have been rumors that Rocksteady, developer of the acclaimed Batman Arkham series of games,
has been been working on a game based on DC superhero Superman. Rocksteady
was expected to officially unveil the game at E3 this week. Well, that didn't happe and now game director and co-founder of Rocksteady Studios Sefton Hill posted a message on Twitter addressing the disappointment. He added that fan enthusiasm for the game - which is still a mystery - has energized the team.
We know some of you were disappointed that we were not at E3 this year. The whole team has been reading your comments, and all of us here at Rocksteady really appreciate your passion for our next project.
Knowing how much it means to you keeps us inspired and energised to deliver a game that you will be proud of. We'll share it with you as soon as it's ready.
Just before E3, a leak on 4Chan - which can be hit or miss in terms of accuracy - supposedly revealed the name of Rocksteady's new game. An image, which could have very easily been photoshopped,
contained the supposed name of the game - Superman: World's Finest. That same rumor claimed it would be revealed at Microsoft's press conference, so I'm guessing there's not much legitimacy to it.
With E3 coming to a close, the next big opportunity for Rocksteady to announce their game would be Gamescom or PAX in August, The Game Awards Show in December, or perhaps PlayStation Experience if Sony decides to hold one again this year (and if Rocksteady wants to be attached to the PlayStation brand).
