NetherRealm Studios surprised Mortal Kombat fans earlier this morning, announcing that Mileena, Rain, and Rambo — who will be voiced by Sylvester Stallone — will be joining the roster in Mortal Kombat 11 as part of the game's Kombat Pack 2; confirming the leak that dataminers had dug out last week.
The developer didn't stop there, as they also announced Mortal Kombat 11: Ultimate — which is, as the name very appropriately suggests, the ultimate version of the popular fighting title — that will be featuring all of the content that had been previously released, as well as the new Kombat Pack.
Mortal Kombat 11: Ultimate was revealed to be launching for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC on Tuesday the 17th of November, which is also the same date Kombat Pack 2 will become available.
This is where things get even more interesting, as NetherRealm Studios confirmed that Mortal Kombat 11: Ultimate will also be launching for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on the date mentioned above, and that players who own the current-gen version of the game will be able to upgrade to its next-gen counterpart for free.
As it is to be expected, the next-gen version of Mortal Kombat 11: Ultimate will feature enhanced graphics, and NetherRealms has revealed that the game will deliver 4K dynamic resolution, as well as improved loading times.
The cherry on top is that the developer also confirms "Krossplay Support" across every single one of the platforms Mortal Kombat 11 is currently available on; these being the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PC, Stadia, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
As a reminder, pre-orders for both Mortal Kombat 11: Ultimate and Kombat Pack 2 will open next Thursday the 15th of October; with the ultimate version of the game retailing for $59.99 USD and the upcoming that includes Mileena, Rain, and Rambo, plus additonal cosmetics, retailing for $14.99 USD.
