Fans of
Samurai Shodown, SNK's iconic sword-fighting video game series, have been getting quite the bunch of good news lately; starting with the fact that SNK is reviving the series after over a decade since the previous entry was released.
Just last week SNK announced the
Samurai Shodown Neo Geo Collection, which includes
Samurai Shodown, Samurai Shodown II, Samurai Shodown III: Blades of Blood, Samurai Shodown IV: Amakusa's Revenge, Samurai Shodown V, and Samurai Shodown V - Special; in order to give players a refresher ahead of the recently announced
Samurai Shodown.
During last night's
Samurai Shodown live stream, SNK gave us a brand-new trailer for the new
Samurai Shodown(which is no longer called
Samurai Shodown VI, as it is confirmed to be a reboot for the series) focusing on the game's roster and introducing us to Yashamaru Kurama, Darli Dagger, and Wu-Ruixiang — the new fighters to join the series — as well as revealing some of the returning characters.
Alongside the trailer, SNK also revealed that the new release window for
Samurai Shodown will see the game launching for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC in June of this year, although the developer still has to share an official date.
Take a look:
