STREET FIGHTER Producer Teases Some Big Surprises To Celebrate Franchise's 30th Anniversary
2017 marks the 30th anniversary of the Street Fighter franchise, and producer Yoshinori Ono has promised that fans can expect some big surprises this year. What will they be and when are they coming?
2017 looks set to be a big year for the Street Fighter franchise as it celebrates its 30th anniversary. That news comes courtesy of producer Yoshinori Ono as he's promised that there are big plans for the video game. What those will remain to be seen, though we do now know when they're probably coming!
Talking to IGN in a recent interview, he said that "around E3 timing, maybe even San Diego Comic-Con, we have one or two surprises we hope our fans will look forward to." Ultra Street Fighter 2: The Final Challengers will "kick off for our 30th celebration" and he mentioned that we can also expect more on Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite and updates to Street Fighter V with new season two content.
Still, that doesn't answer what these big surprises will be, but Ono confirmed that "I'll let you know that the surprises this year are not going to be Rival Schools." That's a shame, but there are plenty of other possibilities, so we're just going to have to be patient and wait and see for the time being.
