Back in April, Electronic Arts teased that the reveal for 2021's Battlefield would be coming "soon." Of course, "soon" is relative so no one really knew when this year's game, referred to as Battlefield 6, would actually be shown to the masses.
Although many figured the reveal would happen sometime this month, it looks like EA will instead wait until June to show us what Battlefield 6 looks like. Over on Twitter, the official Battlefield account offered the following no-so-cryptic announcement:
Many assumed that this suggested a June reveal, and it seems they were right. Andy McNamara, Director of Comms for Shooters and Star Wars at Electronic Arts, later wrote on Twitter, "Boom indeed. See you all in June." So it appears that Battlefield 6 will, indeed, be revealed next month.
As for what we can expect with the latest installment in the blockbuster series, EA previously teased that "it is a bold step" for the franchise's direction.
"It has everything we love about Battlefield – and takes all of it to the next level," the developer wrote. "Epic scale. All-out military warfare. Crazy, unexpected moments. Game-changing destruction. Massive battles, packed with more players and mayhem than ever before. All brought to life with the power of next-gen consoles and PCs."
It sounds like Battlefield 6 is actually fairly far along as it's currently able to be playtested right now. EA DICE is polishing and balancing right now. Stay tuned as we continue to learn more about Battlefield 6 in the coming weeks and months ahead.
