Forget about
Battlefield: Bad Company 3 (for now) as EA has confirmed that DICE's next game is titled
Battlefield V, confirming the previous leaks. The game will be fully announced next week, during the
Battlefield Live Reveal on Wednesday, May 23rd, which will be hosted by comedian and writer Trevor Noah. The teaser trailer for
Battlefield V is ready to go, so the presentation should be pretty smooth.
The
Battlefield V title may be confusing, as the last game in the series was titled
Battlefield 1, and the 2013 entry was sold under the
Battlefield 4 name. But maybe Electronic Arts is testing our math, and I'm happy to confirm that "1" plus "4" equals "5" (somebody should inform EA using the Arabic and Roman numbers doesn't work like that). The reveal will come at 1 pm PT/4 pm ET/ 10 pm CET.
According to the rumors,
Battlefield V‘s story will be similar to that of Battlefield 1‘s, with the campaign taking place across a variety of locations and time periods during the World War II with its story following the German side of the conflict. Apparently, each chapter will focus on the exploits of a different character, which will allow DICE to tell multiple stories with plenty of gameplay mechanisms.
