Borderlands 3 was officially announced during Gearbox Software's PAX East panel this past weekend. The long-awaited game, which we knew has been in development, made its grand debut with an action-packed reveal trailer that, while impressive, offered little in terms of details.

There were lots of explosions, lots of guns, and lots of intriguing new (and familiar) characters. Missing from the trailer, however, was a release date.

While fans have scoured the trailer for any sort of clues as to when Borderlands 3 will release, the wait for an answer actually won't be much longer. In fact, shortly after the games reveal, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford took to Twitter to confirm that the release date will be announced on April 3.

Pitchford's tweet was inline with a teaser from Gearbox's official Twitter account, which also hinted at some sort of event on April 3rd.

Alongside a release date, we'll probably also get to learn what platforms Borderlands 3 will be released on. Perhaps we'll also learn more about the story of the game, including the characters we'll meet.

In the meantime, feel free to watch the reveal trailer for Borderlands 3 above and let us know your thoughts on the game.
